Hasler, Inc. has introduced the M8000, a versatile folder/inserter system that efficiently automates the difficult and costly processing of high volume folding, stuffing and sealing of envelopes. The M8000 collates, folds, inserts and seals documents - in a single pass - at a rate of 4,300 filled envelopes per hour, with an ease of operation that allows virtually anyone to handle the task quickly and in house.

Hasler’s new M8000 folder/inserter offers automatic set up, high capacity document and envelope feeding, capability of in-line metering and a host of other important mail processing features. It will accept envelopes up to 3mm thick, and with Powerfold® 8 folding technology, it can collate up to eight pages - stapled or loose - of varying sizes in any order, and tri-fold the entire set to fit neatly into an envelope. The M8000 features very quiet operation, with a small footprint to fit perfectly in any office environment.

The M8000 is suitable for small runs, or for a wide variety of larger applications. It can be configured with two, four or six stations to meet your specific mail processing needs, and two standard exits offer a choice of in-line metering, batching or stacking. The high capacity document feeder and the envelope hopper hold up to 325 sheets and 350 envelopes, respectively.

Hasler is well known for combining advanced mail processing technology with easy to use operation. For example, the Fill and Start feature on the M8000 allows novice users to simply load documents and envelopes and run the job. The system then takes over by automatically calculating the size of the documents and setting the correct fold. It will store your settings when switched off, or let you save it as one of the 20 programmable jobs for future recall.

Cutting Edge Efficiencies
Each feed station and insert area is equipped with Double Document Detection (DDD) that “senses” actual material thickness rather than just paper density. This means superior accuracy regardless of paper color, texture or thickness. The optional Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) software allows the M8000 to easily and accurately process sensitive jobs with varying numbers of pages. And Hasler’s unique IntelliRead™ software enables the printer to generate OMR marks, which ensure that personalized documents are always correctly processed.

In addition, HaslerFlash allows your M8000 to be conveniently connected to a PC or laptop so service technicians can quickly upload the latest software versions and download machine performance reports. That means optimum system performance, quicker system recovery and maximum productivity.
